This post is part of a series on Implementing SalesHQ Portal, which is one of the GP Elementz Portals from my new employer, ISC Software Solutions.
The client component of SalesHQ allows you to configure the portal and grant access to customers and sales people and so needs to be installed on all Microsoft Dynamics GP client machines.
With the file you downloaded from ISC Software’s secure file transfer site, launch the Dynamics GP client MS installer and, on the Welcome step click Next:
Accept the terms of the License Agreement and click Next:
Verify the install locaton of the client components; this is not the Dynamics GP client location, but a central repository on the PC. It is handled this way as the installer, in alater step, allows installation of the client component into multiple Dynamics GP client instances in one step rather than making you install it multiple times as most other installers do.
when the path has been verified, click Next:
Enter the address of the SalesHQ connector service (same as the one entered during installation of the connector service and click Next:
Choose the Dynamics GP instances into which the SalesHQ component should be deployed and the click Next:
Click Install to begin the installation:
Once the installation is complete, click Finish:
In the next post, I’ll perform a first run of the Microsoft Dynamics GP client which also includes the first part of the configuration of SalesHQ.
